Junior Programmer – Chicago, IL

ORI has an outstanding opportunity for the right individual to support an important government project as an ASP.NET developer. This government office focuses on using electronic methods to collect information from large multi-establishment companies for use in national surveys providing input into leading economic indicators. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, team oriented, customer service focused, flexible, and possess demonstrated experience in the software development life cycle/systems integration environment.

Internal/External: Internal and External Applicants

Duties:

  • Develop software modules for data integration and data transformations.
  • Design, develop, test and implement new web based data processing systems or enhance existing web based data processing systems.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and resolving application, technical and user issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and user manuals for any systems developed in-house.
  • Maintain all web systems developed in-house.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Graduation from a four year accredited college or university with a degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience developing web-based applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft ASP.Net/VB.Net 4.0/4.5/4.6 Framework.
  • Experience in relational databases Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Development Experience in Visual Studio 2015 or 2013 Professional.
  • Experience in HTML layouts using browser-compliant CSS and semantic markup.
  • Serve as a primary technical and application contact for our clients.
  • Experience in writing technical documentation and user manuals.

  • Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly and independently required to: use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stand; talk; twist; bend; ascend and descend stairs; remain stationery for extended periods of time; see and read computer screens; communicate via computer and telephone; and, travel to various locations throughout the office as well as other office sites.
